Water Woes XXV-Assured Water Supply Committee Comment Letter

In May 2023, Governor Hobbs established the Governor's Water Policy Council and associated Assured Water Supply (AWS) Committee.

The objective of the AWS Committee is to review and make recommendations for changes to AWS policies (legislatively, administratively, or by executive action) in order to address the challenges revealed by AWS groundwater modeling projections and continuing to:

• strengthen the integrity of the AWS program

• protect consumers and aquifers

• ensure future growth is not reliant on mined groundwater
