Baby Strong-Arm
Baby Strong-Arm is doing well and has grown about one-inch! This baby saguaro was planted almost one year ago on 1/14/24 near where Strong-Arm Saguaro (with its 34 arms) stood tall. Only 160 years to go!

TP Moore Road Trailhead Mountain Bike Stand
Marana Parks & Recreation (MPR) has recently added a Saris Public Work Stand at the Tortolita Preserve (TP) Moore Road Trailhead. MPR consulted with the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists (Kirk Astroth) regarding the purchase. Matthew Woodhall and Josh Smith (MPR Trail Crew) did the installation. This unit gives TP mountain bike enthusiasts the ability to easily perform mountain bike repairs and maintenance.

Highlands Life Long Learning Group-TP Tour
The Highlands Lifelong Learning Group visited TP for the second time on 10/30/24. Dave Barker (TA Board Member-far right) met the group at the Moore Road Trailhead and discussed the new access and amenities, as well as the now complete perimeter fence. Dave then led the group on a one mile loop that included established trail, wash walking, and a well-worn game trail. All attendees are now trained advocates for the Preserve!
TP Trail Counter Data
MPR provided the following TP Trail Counter data. Bikers, hikers, runners and horseback riders are fully enjoying TP with almost 24,000 users over the last 12 months with an average of 66 users per day. See the detailed stats below:
